Introduction to the Game Development Platform Concepts: Variables, properties, user interfaces, events, and mathematics. 

YELLOW BELT

Introduction to Game Building Concepts: Global functions, game object functions, and JavaScript syntax.

ORANGE BELT

Introduction to Control Statements Concepts: Conditional statements and loops – while, for each, if/then, switch, do/while, and more.

GREEN BELT

Custom Game Building Concepts: Problem-solution mindset, code cleanliness, collaboration, mapping, level design, and working with assets.

BLUE BELT

Intermediate Game Design Concepts: Roblox user interface, local vs global coordinates, camera/scene scope, asset and script management.

PURPLE BELT

Professional Development Environments Concepts: Unity interface, intermediate game design concepts, custom animations, foundations of game-building in Unity.

BROWN BELT

Advanced Programming Concepts: Meshes and assets, ray casting, built-in Unity tools, object-oriented programming principles using C#.

RED BELT

Advanced Game Design Concepts: Scene management, world design, game mechanics using the Unity Asset Store.

Custom Game Development from Concept to Delivery Concepts: Storyboarding, planning, prototyping, pla testing, publishing.

Become a YouTuber

Ever wanted to host your own Youtube channel? Or wondered how some of these YouTubers make their videos look so good? Ninjas will work together to create and customize a shared YouTube channel, including the design of unique channel art, profile pictures, and video thumbnails. They will also be guided through how to record, edit, and upload videos. Throughout camp, Ninjas will analyze popular YouTube videos and learn about copyrights and fair use to give them what it takes to become a Youtuber, all in a collaborative environment!

Intro to Roblox Development

In this hands-on, fully guided experience, Ninjas will learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, an exciting, online gaming platform. Ninjas will spend their time building and exploring new worlds in Roblox before sharing their creations locally and globally. This camp will teach Ninjas how to plan, design, and build their own 3D world to create much more than just a game!

Moviemaking With Minecraft®

Step into the world of Minecraft® and learn how to build worlds through storytelling!

Ninjas will shift their imagination into high gear as they learn scene building, storytelling, and video recording featuring their own Minecraft® world. They will also jump into the basics of editing and mixing audio as they produce their final stories as short movies. Using Minecraft® as a creative medium, Ninjas will have fun expressing themselves and sharing their stories with friends. They will leave this camp with a deeper understanding of how creativity and technology can work together to tell exciting stories.

Code Your Own Arcade

If you love retro arcade games, this is the camp for you! Ninjas will create retro-style arcade games with Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Throughout the camp, Ninjas combine the power of coding with game design to enhance their programming skills and develop games inspired by classic platformers, adventure games, and more! At the end of the camp, they will bring their games to life on handheld gaming devices to play and share with friends.
